Today is a new journey. This is a new journey for me to start writing my thinking on blog. Is it so difficult to start writing ? I think yes. I believe it is already more than 15 years, since I start to write a story or a thinking from my brain to pour it down on blank canvas.
Let's start by today.
Currently, I am reading "The Fuzzy and the Techie" book authored by Scott Harley.
The first chapter is explaining about what is "The Fuzzy" and what is "The Techie".
The Fuzzy refers to people who study liberal arts or social science, and The Techie refers to people who study STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics).
In this era of Digital and Technology, is The Fuzzy having place in this world ? apparently, yes, some of the CEO, Founder or Co-Founder of digital startup is having social science or liberal arts as their background education. For example Katelyn Gleason, founder of Eligible, a health tech digital startup, which focusing on healthcare service. Jack Ma as the famous founder of Alibaba is having English Literature as his Education.
It seems that there are skills, knowledge and mindset that people is getting from Liberal Arts education, that enables them to survive, strive and prevail in Digital Industry.
For example, People with Psychology education background is having a skill to understand human behaviour. This is very important for a digital company for building product which suits the human behaviour. Marc Zuckerberg , founder of Facebook, is taking also psychology courses in Harvard, aside from his coding skill. This psychology knowledge is giving him insights on how human really needs to connect to each other. This is becoming foundation of Facebook main ideas.
